“7  Gourds”

This monochromatic piece features hand-dyed Hanji, adorned with seven hand-cut Hanji gourds. In Korean culture, gourds symbolize luck and fortune, while the number seven is synonymous with luck in American tradition. The repetition of dotted patterns on the gourds, inspired by the iconic style of Yayoi Kusama, creates a rhythm that merges these cultural symbols, drawing connections between heritage, superstition, and art.
